Lansdowne Kindergarten is at the northern end of Masterton. As a sessional kindergarten we offer five, four-hour morning sessions for the older children and three two-hour sessions catering for the younger children in the afternoon.
Some of the initiatives we have in place are:
- Integration of Te Reo and Tikanga Maori into the programme
- Sponsoring Pukaha Mt Bruce Kiwi programme and studying the kiwi
- Adopted “Taonga”, our own Kiwi
- Excursions to Pukaha Mt Bruce Wildlife Centre and Mt Holdsworth to experience our natural environment and learn how to care for it
- Developing, planting and caring for our own vegetable and nature gardens
- Visiting and entertaining for our friends at Kandahar Rest Home and Masterton Hospital
- Encouraging development and interest in literacy and art
- Integrating Information Communications Technology (ICT) into our programme to extend literacy experiences
